This Surah was revealed after the battle of Trench 5 A.H. It tells that zihar is an unlawful method to divorce. Surah Al Mujadila is “Medinan surah” . In the Surah , total are 22 verses & 3 Rukus. This Surah was revealed after the battle of Trench 5 A.H. It tells that zihar is an unlawful method to divorce. It also tells us the description of those who believe in Allah and those who are hypocrites. This surah tells about the pre islamic traditions ,when one day a woman argue and requested the Holy Prophet to suggest a way her out because her husband say ‘zihar’.It was a bad social custom of that time a husband call his wife “mother” and thus would separate from her but don’t gave her divorce.But their are not detail instructions are available.The prophet didn’t answer her because that time there was no revelation about these types of social customs.After her appeal God revealed this surah.
